Reading... The Good Luck Girls of Shipwreck Lane by Kelly Harms. I'll be starting it on Friday. I abandoned the last book I was reading, Lighthouse Bay
Playing... nothing.
Watching... nothing new. I still need to catch up on Limitless and a few new movies. Oh, but I have been watching Flea Market Flip this past weekend.
Trying... to get a better job...still. I have a VERY part time job as a substitute teacher at my mom's school. But it's VERY part time and I only work if they need me.
Cooking... less. I was planning on cooking for Christmas but I was under the weather.
Eating... a lot this holiday season.
Drinking... water. Besides, OJ in the morning and an occasional smoothie from Panera, I only drink water.
Calling... no one.
Texting... my boyfriend. I don't text many people.
Pinning... frugal tips.
Tweeting... random things; freebies, giveaways, etc.
Going...  nowhere. I went to school to sub for a few days earlier this month and now for the past 2 weeks, except Christmas I've been stuck in the house sick.
Loving... my boyfriend like always :)
Hating... that I haven't been feeling well. I'm getting over a sinus infection and a stuffy ear filled with fluid.
Discovering... that a car may benefit me and that I definitely need to start saving to get my own place. I need to get out of this rut and advance in my life.
Thinking... about my future.
Feeling... sick for a few weeks now.
Hoping (for)... a better 2016. 2015 has been rough.
Listening (to)... nothing in particular.
Celebrated... Christmas Eve and day with my mom's family.
Smelling... nothing.
Ordering... nothing.
Considering... nothing.
Starting... nothing.
Finishing... 2015.

Currently: November 2015

I know I'm a week behind my currently post for November, but things were a little hectic at the end of last month. With further ado, here's what happened in November.

Reading... Nothing. I've stopped Lighthouse Bay by Kimberley Freeman. It wasn't holding my interest.
Playing... Temple Run 2 a lot. I'm addicted again.
Watching... Blindspot and Limitless. Those are my new go to shows (even though I do need to catch up on both). And still watching cooking shows.
Trying... to get a better job...still. I have a VERY part time job as a substitute teacher at my mom's school. But it's VERY part time and I only work if they need me.
Cooking... less but I did make stuffing and mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving.
Eating... less these days. I want to lose weight, so I'm trying really hard to eat less.
Drinking... water. Besides, OJ in the morning and an occasional smoothie from Panera, I only drink water.
Calling... no one.
Texting... my boyfriend. I don't text many people.
Pinning... nothing. I haven't really been on Pinterest in awhile.
Tweeting... random things; freebies, giveaways, etc.
Going...  out more these days.
Loving... my boyfriend like always :)
Hating... that the new year is coming quickly. Time goes way too fast.
Discovering... that a car may benefit me and that I definitely need to start saving to get my own place.
Thinking... about my future.
Feeling... down lately.
Hoping (for)... a better 2016. 2015 has been rough.
Listening (to)... nothing in particular.
Celebrated... Thanksgiving with my dad's family this year.
Smelling... nothing.
Ordering... Christmas presents.
Considering... being a preschool head or assistant teacher
Starting... a better part time job at a speech pathologist office. I work in the office and I work with the kids 3 days a week. I'm still subbing but I get more paychecks here.
Finishing... my event and wedding planning course....still. I know, I know! It's so boring so I'm dragging my feet with it.

Currently This Month: October 2015

Reading... Lighthouse Bay by Kimberley Freeman (still; I haven't made it very far. Maybe I should pick a new book).

Playing... with craft supplies.
Watching... Blindspot and Limitless. Those are my new go to shows (even though I do need to catch up on both).
Trying... to get a better job...still. I have a VERY part time job as a substitute teacher at my mom's school. But it's VERY part time and I only work if they need me.
Cooking... on Thursdays almost every week.
Eating... less these days. I want to lose weight, so I'm trying really hard to eat less.
Drinking... water. Besides, OJ in the morning and an occasional smoothie from Panera, I only drink water.
Calling... no one.
Texting... my boyfriend. I don't text many people.
Pinning... recipes.
Tweeting... random things; freebies, giveaways, etc.
Going...  nuts sitting home and having a cold.
Loving... the mild autumn NY is getting and also loving that the holidays (specifically Christmas) are pretty much here.
Hating... nothing right now
Discovering... that I might not want to become a preschool teacher (but it's still on the back burner).
Thinking... that the management field might not be for me anymore. I'm back to the chef/culinary field again (I think).
Feeling... like the year is going way too fast! How can it be Halloween and the holidays already? I feel like I just celebrated them.
Hoping (for)... a job and hoping that I make up my damn mind about college!
Listening (to)... Hello by Adele. I'm not a fan of her old music (so depressing) but Hello isn't bad. Still depressing, but not bad.
Celebrated... my boyfriend's birthday on October 13.
Smelling... nothing. Seriously, for the last week I couldn't smell due to my cold.
Ordering... Christmas presents soon.
Considering... nothing.
Starting... a lot of crafts. I start a lot of projects but never finish them. Hoping I'll do that this season.
Finishing... my event/wedding planning course that I started in January 2014. I'm slowly finishing it; it's incredibly boring and not my cup of tea anymore. Why did I start this course?

September Playlist

I have about 3,000 songs on my Ipod and no where near the same amount on Spotify. I still enjoy music, but for 2 years now, I haven't had the same passion as I used to. I don't look for new music and I haven't updated my Ipod (*gasp*) in a year (I do have to call Apple though. For some reason my computer and Ipod aren't compatible anymore).

So, every month I will put my Ipod/Spotify on shuffle and bring you a playlist of 10 random songs. The playlist may not go together, but that's the beauty of it. Enjoy!

Currently This Month: September 2015

Reading... Lighthouse Bay by Kimberley Freeman
Playing... an old Nintendo game. My boyfriend found an old Nintendo Advance handheld console and a Mario game to go along with it (found in the street, lost, looking for a home) and I'm addicted to playing it. *sigh* Childhood memories; they're great.
Watching... the travel channel more. I love Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre Foods and most of Anthony Bourdain's shows.
Trying... to get a job...still. I have a VERY part time job as a substitute teacher at my mom's school. But it's VERY part time and I only work if they need me.
Cooking... everything! Nothing in particular; I just make whatever looks good. I LOVE to cook and I make really good comfort food, big pot/pan meals, and casseroles.
Eating... less these days. I want to lose weight, so I'm trying really hard to eat less.
Drinking... water. Besides, OJ in the morning and an occasional smoothie from Panera, I only drink water.
Calling... no one.
Texting... my boyfriend. I don't text many people.
Pinning... fall decor, fall crafts, and one of my favorite holidays Halloween!
Tweeting... random things; freebies, giveaways, etc.
Going... fall/autumn crazy. I want to make every autumn craft I see on Pinterest and decorate my house to the brim with autumn decor.
Loving... the cooler weather! Don't get me wrong, I love summer, but I also love these cooler days we're getting.
Hating... that summer has come to an end :(  I love the summer but I also like the fall.
Discovering... that I might want to go into culinary or hospitality management. I love cooking, but I think more cut out for the management side than working in a kitchen.
Thinking... about going back to school for culinary or hospitality management. Now, if I don't like those than I might go into culinary. And if that fails, early childhood education. Phew!
Feeling... like the year is going way to fast! How can it be September already? How are holidays almost here? I feel like I just celebrated them.
Hoping (for)... a job and hoping that I make up my damn mind about college!
Listening (to)... online radio more and more and just letting my Ipod/Spotify just play whatever. I don't have a favorite right now.
Celebrating... my dad's birthday soon. He turns another year older on September 25th.
Smelling... nothing.
Ordering... craft supplies on Amazon. I will be ordering my boyfriend's birthday gifts and Christmas gifts for my parents and my bf soon too.
Thanking... a lot. About my future, college, future major, a job, autumn crafts, and traveling.
Considering... taking a cooking class, dressing up for Halloween, and taking other classes.
Starting... a lot of crafts. I start a lot of projects but never finish them. Hoping I'll do that this season.
Finishing... my event/wedding planning course that I started in January 2014. I'm slowly finishing it; it's incredibly boring and not my cup of tea anymore. Why did I start this course?

No More Comfort Zone

If you asked me a few years ago if I wanted out of my comfort zone I would have told you no and laughed at the idea. After having a quarter life crisis, freaking out, and now at 24, I will admit I'm tired of living in my zone. I want a change of scenery, a new route, a new path; I want a whole new comfort zone. I want to challenge myself, try new things, and have fun. Don't get me wrong, this will be really difficult for me due to my anxiety, social anxiety, and fear. I know I will have to push myself and do things that aren't comfortable for me (to a degree). Everyone's definition of comfort is different; your definition might be to try bungee jumping,  for me it's getting on a roller coaster or traveling somewhere new on my own.

I've created lists, like 101 Things in 1001 Days, and I've pinned numerous things, but nothing has happened. So, I'm going to create new challenges. First, the Pinterest Challenge, where I will try a new idea everyday for a month (because let's be real, you and I both know we pin and pin all those crafts and DIY's and they never get done).

Second, I'm going to tackle 25 ideas from my 101 Things in 1001 Days list (25 ideas to equal my 25th birthday next year). I'm going to tackle these ideas for a year, until my 25th birthday on July 2, 2016 (you can view my list here). And finally, a challenge I found online today called the Hey Eleanor Challenge, which is all about getting out of your comfort zone.

Are you ready to challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone? Come join me for one or all three challenges! I'd love to have you!

xoxo Courtney

Update

I know I've sort of neglected this blog and I'm sorry for that. Life and laziness got in the way; but here's an update on my life.

  • My grandfather passed away on July 4. I was very close to him, so it affected me a lot.
  • I turned 24 on July 2 and it was the worse birthday ever.
  • I've decided that I'm going to culinary school but...
  • Culinary school is REALLY expensive. I mean, I'm just learning how to cook, not how to do brain surgery. So due to the expenses, I decided to set up a GoFundMe Campaign, which can be found here or on the side of my blog. And I would really appreciate if you could help me in my dream and journey; I appreciate any amount.
  • If culinary school doesn't work, I'll become a preschool teacher.
  • My boyfriend is becoming an uncle to a little boy soon! Since we plan on marrying in the near future, that makes me a honorary aunt soon! His name will be Jimmy Ian and he's due in September.
  • I went to a wedding in North Beach, MD back on May 26th! My cousin got married at this beautiful private beach. I spent 2 1/2 days with my dad family by traveling to and from; it was crazy, but the wedding was beautiful. I haven't been to a wedding since I was 12! Post coming soon!
And that's about it!

xoxo,
Courtney
