New Year and New Opportunities

I can't believe it's 2016 already. Where did 2015 go? I never liked New Years Eve. I find it to be a long day, boring, and depressing. New Years Day is okay though; it's my anniversary with my boyfriend (3 years today!). Even though it was my anniversary, my boyfriend was under the weather, so unfortunately we had to postpone it. So, I went to my dad's family with my parents and spent the afternoon with them.

I always make resolutions and I never follow through. This year, I'm going to change that. I'm not going to call it a resolution, I will just attempt to change something in my life and take small steps with it; I will attempt new opportunities. That's what I'm calling my list, it's a new opportunity list. Resolution sounds too strict and too definite.

I think the key to any type of list, is to start small and not add a ton of things to it. Add doable tasks and add at a maximum, 10 items. Then once you're done with those items, add more if you want. I read it takes about 60 days to create a habit, so keep going with your task and don't give up. I know that sounds hard and trust me, I easily fall off the bandwagon with something and then forget about it forever. But if you want to succeed and advance and whatnot, we all need to keep pushing on and keep going with our task and lists.

This year I would like to accomplish a number of different things and I want to make sure this year is great and better than other years. I want a year to remember and I don't mean a year filled with negative events; I want a positive year to remember.

This year I want to:
  1. Be more creative and express my creativity everywhere.
  2. Save more money and spend less.
  3. Exercise more.
  4. Get my permit and maybe learn to drive.
  5. Advance and be more successful in my life.
  6. Move in with Jose.
  7. Blog more.
  8. Sell more on Etsy.
  9. Have new experiences.
  10. Meet new people and make new connections.
That's all I can think of and for now this list is a good size and start for me. I hardly finish anything in my life (dance and tennis lessons never got done and I almost dropped out of college). So, accomplishing all or just a few of these things on my list, is a big thing for me.

It's the first day of a new book and a new year. Remember to attempt your list, start small, and keep pushing through.

Happy New Year!

xoxo,
Courtney
