Valentine's Day For Singles

The joy of Valentine's Day! You're with the one you love, you're spending a romantic day with them, you exchange gifts and kisses, and you might even get engaged! Valentine's Day is lovely for those of us in a relationship. But what about those people who are single or just broke up with their significant other? Valentine's Day is not so much fun anymore. You despise the couples who are together, you're disgusted seeing everyone being lovey dovey, you feel bad about yourself, you get depressed, etc. But if you're single, it doesn't have to be that way. You can enjoy the day just as much as those lovey dovey couples who are making out under a tree. It just takes some creativity and it requires nothing but yourself, loving yourself that is.

1. Take yourself out for dinner.
Yes! Go to a nice restaurant, get out of those sweats, take your hair down from that pony tail, dress up, put makeup on, and eat out by yourself. It doesn't matter if you're by yourself and you're dressing up for no one in particular. Dress up to feel confident, to feel beautiful, and for yourself. Heck! You might actually meet someone there and it may turn out to be a relationship.

2. Spend the day with your single girlfriends.
Have them come over for a movie night and popcorn. Act like teenagers again; prank call people, paint your nails, gossip, etc. Feel young again! Even have a sleepover with them! It'll help you forget that you're single or your ex that we shall not name. Or go out with them to a restaurant, to a spa, shopping, etc.

3. Do Not eat ice cream, watch sappy love movies, listen to sad love songs, binge eat, and cry just because you're single. No! Put that spoon down now missy!

4. Go get a manicure and pedicure! Or go for a spa day!
Make yourself feel beautiful and pampered.

5. Take a trip somewhere, either a weekend trip or a day trip.
Go somewhere new, stay in a hotel for a day or a weekend, and relax. Get your mind off of work, life, your ex, etc.

6. While you're at the hotel or even in your house, take a nice hot bubble bath.
Light candles, maybe drink some champagne, pamper yourself, listen to your favorite music, and just relax. Again, it'll take your mind off of life, work, and your ex.

7. Cook a nice meal for yourself.
Make your favorite meal (or bake your favorite dessert) and indulge in your favorite meal. But again, don't binge eat just because you're upset.

8. Go see a movie by yourself. Do karoke. Do something fun!

9. Do something new for yourself.
Get a haircut, a new hairdo, change your wardrobe, etc. Become a new person. That will make you feel better, give you confidence, and maybe you'll meet someone new. Plus, if you see your ex, they'll be like why did I leave her again?

10. Learn more about yourself.
Discover who you are! By doing that, you'll experience more of who you are. You might discover you have a hidden talent or you can try a new hobby.

Remember, don't binge eat, don't cry over your ex or because you're single, don't eat a pint of ice cream, don't watch sappy movies, don't listen to sad love songs, and don't stay home all day. Only you can make yourself happy, no one else can. Get out, discover who you are, have fun, relax, pamper yourself, spend time with your girlfriends, etc. But most importantly love yourself and strut that confidence around like it's nobody's business.

xx Happy Valentine's Day!

My Top 10 Worst Golden Globes Dresses

1. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. For the record, I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence at all (I could easily rant about how I much I dislike her). And I'm definitely not a fan of this dress. It looks like a bedspread. What's with the black things on the dress?

2. Lupita Nyong'o  in Ralph Lauren. I don't understand the sleeves. Is she wearing a cape or something? I feel like cutting them off and making it a strapless dress; it'd look much better that way.

3. Emma Watson in Dior. I'm a fan of Emma Watson but I really don't like this.....dress. Is it a dress? A top with pants? No both! The pants are so cute on her and would look great with a red top or something, but with the dress? It just doesn't work or go. The dress is beautiful, but would look so much better if the back was closed. Again, it doesn't work with the pants.

4. Kaley Cuoco in Rani Zakhem Couture gown. I love Kaley Cuoco but not this dress. It's a lovely shape but the color is terrible. It looks dirty.

5. Julie Bowen in Carolina Herrera. She has such a cute figure but the colors just don't go!

6. Berenice Bejo in Giambattista Valli. No. Just no. This looks horrible on her. Is she wearing a rose garden?  I don't get the fluff on the dress.

7. Giuliana Rancic in Lorena Sarbu. I like Giuliana Rancic, but not this dress. The color is terrible ad it looks like a bag on her. She's usually very fashionable on the red carpet, but not this time.

8. Paula Patton. Huh? What's with the thing on her shoulder? What is it anyway? A towel? Her sweater? Extra material that the designer didn't know what to do with?

9. Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung. I really don't like this. The whole dress is terrible. The sheer bottom is the worst part about this dress. It just doesn't go. Nothing on this dress goes actually.

10. Caitlin Fitzgerald. A little too Alice In Wonderland. Is she trying out for a role as Alice in the movie?

Extras:

11. Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung. This designer made my list twice. Wow! The dress doesn't flatter her. It looks like a bag and the colors just don't work together. Sorry Sandra!

12. Edie Falco in Lanvin. Merry Christmas Edie! No, seriously; with the bow, she looks like a wrapped Christmas present. And not to mention it doesn't flatter her figure.

13. And finally, Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhuillier. I know she's pregnant and all, but this dress doesn't flatter her. It looks like a moo moo dress. Not to mention, the floral details and colors are terrible.

Next week, I'll be showing you my Top 10 best Golden Globe dresses.

Currently

This weeks themes:
resolving, anticipating, eating, making, remembering

I'm currently trying to resolve my money situation. I'm trying to save for an apartment and on top of that I still need to survive, so I keep spending money on food. By always spending and with the little bit of money I make with my job (it's a commission job) I'm not getting anywhere with saving.

I'm currently anticipating an apartment and a better job.

I'm currently eating cereal for breakfast. Kellogg's Cinnamon Pecan cereal.

I'm currently making not enough money.

I'm currently remembering how easy life was when I was younger. I remember thinking I wish I could be an adult, I can't wait to be one! Now, I wish I was younger again. It's not all that it's cracked up to be.

Sunday Social

I know I've been quiet these past few weeks. The holidays just crept up on me and I got buys (and lazy); but starting today I'm back in full swing! Now onto today's Sunday Social.

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Yes! I plan on eating less junk food, like cookies and chips (which are my favorite!), and eating more salad and healthy items. Keyword is plan, so let's see how long that idea lasts.

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?
Nope! I'm a couch potato.

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the Holidays?
I spent it with my fiance for the first year. It was so nice to spend it with someone I love (other than my family).

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?
Get a better paying job, continue writing my book, move in with Jose, plan my wedding more, lose weight, and get certified in event planning.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.
1. Moving in with Jose.
2. Getting certified in event planning.
3. Planning my wedding.
