On The Shelf: Animal Rings
On The Shelf is a new series on here. Every week I'll be showing you my collections.
This week, it's Animal Rings.
Now, it's a very small collection (I have 3 so far) but it's something. I'm not really sure why I like them but there's something about animal rings that I like. Maybe it's the quirkiness. Or maybe because it's a little odd. Whatever the reason maybe, I love them and every time I see one, I want it!
It all started with this snake ring that I bought at Lord & Taylor. I normally don't shop at L&T but my dad does. So one day while I was there with him, I was just looking around in the jewelry department and I came across this ring. L&T is usually an expensive store but this ring was only $18! Right in my budget! So I bought this, along with a snake bracelet.
And then this past weekend, I came across even more rings in Macy's.
I ended up buying this fox ring
and this owl ring (I know, it's kind of hard to tell it's an owl). Since they were sale, some of the rings weren't in my size (I'm a size 7). I was going to buy two more, but I didn't really care for them. They were ok, but not my favorite.
Out of them all, I have to say the own ring is my favorite though. It's small, it's cute, and it fits me perfectly.
So, if you ever see an animal ring, let me know! Now, I'm off to shop online for more animal rings.
Have a lovely day!
PS. Next week, I'll be showing you my collection of notebooks and journals.

Etsy Love
It's that time again! The time where I show you what I currently love from Etsy. Enjoy!
This necklace. There's something about it that I love.
This gold envelope necklace.
This teapot.
This necklace.
This Sailor Tote Bag. I love these nautical type bags. They're my favorite.
This starfish hair clip.
"I'm A Hoot" Print. I love this! The colors are beautiful and that owl is quite charming...haha.
This charm necklace.
This anchor necklace.
This blue bird brooch.
These earrings. Now, I don't have my ears pierced but if I did I would so get these. They're lovely!
This heart shaped ring holder.
This drawing. Isn't it lovely?
And that's it! I know, I know I have a lot of favorites. I shop and browse on there a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. And it was quite difficult just choosing these. I could have listed more, but I'll spare you.
Have a lovely evening!
Craft Night
Next Tuesday, January 24th, Elycia and Chantilly will be hosting a Craft Night on Ustream! They'll be making this adorable felt plush camera. So if you're crafty, like me, and interested in joining the fun, go here to find out more.
I'll be joining in on the fun next Tuesday! That's if I remember to do so....Anyway, one of my many resolutions was to do more sewing (and also learn a bit more). So this is perfect! I mean, I can buy all those "How To Sew" books but I'm more of a hands on/visual type girl, if you know what I mean. Plus, I have no patience to learn from a book or anything. It'll just sit around in my room and the money will go to waste.
If you're going to join, let me know!
Have a lovely day!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things
This Picture with This Quote
If you know me, you'll know that I love this man pictured above (we're married by the way. He just doesn't know it yet. True, I never really met him, only at a couple of concerts, but I can dream, right?). I not only love him but I love his band, There For Tomorrow. Seriously, check them out if you're into rock music. They won't disappoint and you won't regret it, I promise.
Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Dip
Seriously, this looks incredible! I need to make this ASAP. I love anything with chocolate chip cookie dough. Chocolate cookie dough ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough balls, etc. I'm sure I'll like this as well. It also includes my second favorite dessert, cheesecake. How great is that?
Call It Off (Demo) by Tegan and Sara
I've been a fan of Tegan and Sara for quite some time now. And the original version of this song has been a favorite of mine as well. Last week when I discovered the demo, I loved it even more. Seriously, I think I broke the replay button; that's how much I played it. I think it's a bit better than the original. The vocals are a lot better and there's just something about it that I love. Maybe it's the way it flows? Or maybe it's the buildup of the vocals towards the end? I don't really know; I can't put my finger on it.

Notebooks/Journals
(Picture)
I have a confession to make....I'm a journal/notebook addict. I'm not kidding. I have an addiction to buying notebooks/journals. I have a basket filled with them and I ran out of room (so I may have to start a new basket). I guess I like the blank pages and just having it available, if an idea/thought pops into my head. I love the possibility that a new notebook holds. It can hold anything you want. I mainly use my notebooks (or sketchbooks) as art journals and then I will occasionally write in them. Most of the time my journals don't get used or filled up, they just sit in the basket. Like I said, I more of an art journal person. But here's some good news! I recently (as of yesterday) started a journal swap with someone on Tumblr. We're going to write to each other (about our day, what's on our minds, how we feel, etc.) and at the end of the month (in this case February 12th), mail it to each other and then reply and start over. I love this idea because I get to document my day and I get to finally use a journal up. I also love this idea because it helps me open up to others, which is rather quite difficult for me. I mean, no one, not even my parents or my close friend, sees what I write in my art journals. So this is like an exercise in both things. I'm going to eventually make a post about my collection of notebooks/journals, so keep an eye out for that. It's part of a series, that I'm starting on here, called On The Shelf.

Valentine's Day Swap 2012
Mary Rebecca is holding a Valentine's Day Swap this year! Check out what it's all about below and if you're interested in doing this, go here.
I'm thinking about doing this. I love receiving packages and swapping things with people.
Have a lovely day!
EDIT: I signed up! Can't wait to start shopping for my partner.
"This Valentine's Day Swap is to create a package for your partner that encompasses this fun holiday. Handmade or store bought items are fine, and the only item everyone is required to include is a card.
All participants will get a little information blurb about their swap partner to help get an idea of what their partner would like in a package. There will also be a link-up day so people can show off what they received!"
Have a lovely day!

A New Year, A New Hairstyle
Alright, so next week I’ve decided to go get my hair cut. And I don’t just want a trim, I want something different, maybe a new hairstyle. So, I was thinking of get it styled and cut as Jenna McDougall (she’s the lead singer of Tonight Alive). I’m not sure if it’ll work though. The first photo, is the only photo I could find where I was wearing my hair down and that was decent. The other photos are just different lengths of her hair and angles, since I can’t find a good picture of her without her tilting her head or anything (and most of her band photos, she’s wearing a beanie).
So what do you think? Should I get it? Or should I just get layers? I can’t decide and I’m afraid if I get it, I’ll hate it. Plus, I like my hair up most of the time and I have feeling with this hairstyle, I’ll be wearing it down a lot (in the beginning). And to be honest, I hate bangs, so I don't know.
Any input would be great, thanks!
Have a lovely day!
